The job 

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled Senior Finance Excellence Manager to strengthen our Finance team. 

In this role, you will cover the full scope of Business Controller responsibilities (Month-End Close, Financial Planning & Analysis) and take responsibility for the planning and reporting of Personnel Expenses (PEX) and Other Operating Expenses (OOE). Your focus will be on driving deeper performance analysis, enhancing cost control, and supporting strong financial governance. 

In this role, you will work closely with the Finance Director, HR, and department heads, and serve as a sparring partner for senior management. You are comfortable challenging assumptions, ensuring compliance, and driving improvements in processes, reporting and controls. Your expertise in accounting, year-end closing, and integration of new acquisitions will be key to our continued growth and financial excellence. 

  • Full responsibility for planning and steering cost management of PEX and OOE, including proactive identification of risks, trends, and interdependencies that impact company performance 

  • Entire monitoring of P&L and balance sheet side for continuous transparency 

  • Lead the end-to-end process for provisions/accruals, including strategic oversight of preparation, critical analysis, and robust documentation to ensure compliance, accuracy, and alignment with financial governance standards  

  • Monthly reconciliation of HR- and OOE-related cost accounts and challenging payroll data from external providers 

  • Evaluate and challenge assumptions across departments, proposing alternative solutions and weighing trade-offs between efficiency, compliance and strategic growth 

  • Lead the design and continuous refinement of governance frameworks, internal controls, and compliance processes to address evolving risks and business dynamics 

  • Steering month-end closings as well as year-end closings, and preparation of financial statements 

  • Driving analysis of trends, variances and performance drivers 

  • Preparation, analysis and presentation of financial and non-financial reports to management and leadership team 

  • Acting proactively as interface towards internal and external stakeholders in Finance area, especially with auditors 

  • Assist with integrating newly acquired companies (M&A) into our financial processes and helping to create synergies 

  • Drive the continuous enhancement of financial systems, tools, and processes, ensuring scalability, efficiency, and alignment with best-in-class practices 

  • Ensuring high data quality across all business systems 

  • Key role in supporting the Finance Director in all aspects of Financial Planning and Analysis including preparation of department level and consolidated budgets, preparation of the rolling forecast, associated analysis and decision support 

  • Initiate and lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving profitability, operational efficiency, and reporting quality, often in ambiguous and evolving business contexts 

Job requirements

You are an accomplished finance professional with a strong track record in both controlling and accounting. You are someone with a great eye for detail, who loves it when everything lines up perfectly. You combine analytical sharpness with hands-on execution and the ability to influence decisions at all levels. You are comfortable managing complex processes, integrating new entities, and challenging the status quo to achieve better outcomes. 

You have 

  • A finished BSc or MSc level degree in Finance or related domain; 

  • A proven track record in Finance (10+ years) ideally in an international environment; 

  • Strong knowledge of personnel and operating expense controlling; 

  • Experience in Year-End Close, preparation of financial statements, and working with auditors; 

  • Proven ability to reconcile and analyze HR-related cost accounts; 

  • Understanding of compliance frameworks, internal controls, and governance processes;  

  • Extensive knowledge of SAP FICO; 

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel; 

  • Professional fluency in English;
